Disabled Facilities
Ramsey Health Centre is a single storey building with good access for wheelchair/mobility scooter users. Entrance is via a wide automatic door for easy access to the reception and waiting areas.
Two parking spaces reserved for disabled patients are near the front entrance. The whole building is on the ground floor only. There are no steps into the building and all doors are wide enough for wheelchair access. Toilets equipped to help our disabled patients are available at the front of the building. If you require any extra assistance please make this known. Should you find it difficult to enter the building unaided please ring the bell for assistance.
A hearing loop system is provided at reception for patients who are hard of hearing; Please ask at reception.
We are able to provide most written patient information in large print format for patients with a visual disability. A large print version of the practice booklet is available. Please ask at reception.

If you are a non-English-speaking patient and do not have a relative or friend you can bring with you to interpret, please let our receptionists know and they will try their best to arrange an interpreter.

To access all of our services you can speak to a member of our Patient Services Team either by telephone or in person. There is only one telephone number to remember - 01487 812611.
If you are calling with a query about sick / fit notes, prescription information or results, we deal with these queries between 10.00am and 4.00pm only.
At certain times during the daytime hours your call may be redirected to an answer phone which will give you an alternative number to call if you need urgent medical help. This will be answered promptly by one of our staff. If you visit us in person between 8.00am and 6.00pm and you need urgent medical help, but our front door is closed, please ring the bell and we will be able to help you.
Out Of Hours
When we are closed overnight, at weekends and public holidays your call will automatically be transferred to the Out-of-Hours Service. Please call 01487 812611 and your call will be diverted. A doctor or nurse will answer your call, assess the problem and offer advice if appropriate. You may then be asked either to go to the Emergency Care Centre at Hinchingbrooke or Doddington Hospital or wait for a doctor to visit you at your home or call an ambulance.
Other options, eg the local Urgent Treatment Centre in Peterborough or NHS 111.
Peterborough Urgent Treatment Centre
Access to local NHS services is also available 8.00am to 8.00pm every day through the Urgent Treatment Centre at City Care Centre, Thorpe Road, Peterborough, PE3 6DB. Tel: 01733 293800.
With no appointment needed, the Peterborough UTC treats patients with illnesses and injuries that need attention urgently but are not critical or life threatening such as:
- sprains, strains, cuts and grazes
- arm, foot and leg injuries
- bites, minor burns and scalds
- suspected fractures or broken bones (X-ray available)
- minor head injuries
- eye problems such as scratches and foreign bodies in the eye.
NHS 111
NHS 111 is a free-to-call single non-emergency number medical helpline operating in England
You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it's not a life-threatening situation.
Call 111 if:
- you need medical help fast but it's not a 999 emergency
- you think you need to go to A&E or need another NHS urgent care service
- you don't know who to call or you don't have a GP to call
- you need health information or reassurance about what to do next
